This is the AIRS, AMSU-A, and HSB weekly operations status report for Friday, December 20, 2024 (the end of week 1180 of the Aqua mission).

 
AIRS:  The AIRS instrument remains healthy with all voltages, currents, and temperatures as expected.
AMSU-A1:  AMSU-A1 is healthy except for channels 4, 5, 6, and 7.
AMSU-A2:  AMSU-A2, which provided channels 1 and 2 of the AMSU-A suite, suffered a non-recoverable loss of power on September 24, 2016 and is no longer operational.
HSB:  HSB has been non-operational since February 2003 due to a scanner anomaly.


Instrument activities since previous report:

 New AIRS Gain & Circumvention tables (Optimum, A-Only, and B-Only) were uploaded to the Aqua spacecraft on Thursday, December 19.
The tables will be loaded to the AIRS instrument when the next guard test executes, on Sunday December 22.


Upcoming events:

1) An AIRS guard test is scheduled for Sunday, December 22.  This guard test will load the new gain tables to the AIRS instrument.  Here is the timeline (UT):
   357/22:25:00 AIRS Guard Test begins (AIRS in CHECKOUT mode) 
   357/22:52:00 AIRS back in OPERATE mode

Daily plots of noise levels for each AIRS channel are available on the AIRS webpage at https://airs.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/instrument-operations/.

For each channel there are plots for the whole AIRS mission and for the last 2 months.
